Videography to me is more than just a job…it’s a passion. Whenever I get behind the camera I get excited to create. If I am shooting the same event I have shot in the past, I will definitely try to challenge myself by shooting it differently. I thrive on being able to complete assignments in a short amount of time. Being efficient allows me to go out and create more videos….and the more chances I get behind the camera the better I can become.
I am not much of a talker, which is why I get my point across through video. As a news photographer this was a perfect fit for me. I had a reporter with me who did the talking and I got to shoot the video, which told the story visually. Don’t get me wrong, I strongly believe in communication. Understanding your clients’ wants and needs are important. What I am saying is that I express myself though my visual work.
I received a great compliment the other day. As I hand delivered a clients’ video to them they told me that, everyone who saw their wedding film was amazed with the quality of the picture and how I created the wedding story. My client said, “People said it looked like a movie.” I told him that was great, and that is what I strive for. I strive to exceed my clients’ expectations. Many can do what is expected, but it is those who exceed expectations that get noticed the most!
I have been working in television and media for over 18 years. My experience includes news photojournalist, editor, producer and storyteller. Throughout the years, I have been honored to receive the Edward R. Murrow award, Five Telly Awards, and many more. My motto is “THERE'S AN OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME BETTER AT MY CRAFT EACH TIME I GET BEHIND THE CAMERA."
