I am not much of a talker. If one starts a conversation I am willing to talk, but I usually do not initiate a conversation. Pictures are my words. I communicate well through my videography. See, as an infant I was mal nourished, neglected, and because of that my speech suffered. After many years of speech therapy I was able to communicate verbally much better than I had when I was younger.
God has given us all a gift. One of my gifts is telling stories through videography. I use peoples’ stories to communicate a message. Whether it be for nonprofits, mini documentaries or a wedding….there is a story to tell. One can overcome obstacles, and in my case it was turning to the arts. There are many artist out in the world who have become who they are due to abuse. Some turn to music as a way to cope with abuse, and some turn to other arts.
This blog is about overcoming your shortfalls. What you need to do is believe in yourself and find that gift that God gave you and run with it. Once you figure out what that gift is you can develop it. Because you understand your gift, negative thoughts and comments from others’ regarding your gift shouldn’t hold you back. Believe in yourself! Once you believe in yourself, the doors will open to the beginnings of success.
